# What CBAM figure does an EU buyer need for Algerian clinker?

Canonical: https://senseible.earth/answers/algeria-clinker-exporter-cbam-figure

Per tonne of clinker: calcination CO2 from limestone, roughly half a tonne, plus kiln fuel, which in Algeria is mostly gas. Electricity counts for cement too. Ask for a verified figure; gas fired kilns can come in below the EU default.

## What goes in

- Process CO2 from calcining limestone.
- Kiln fuel, mostly natural gas.
- Electricity for grinding and fans.
- Bought clinker if a plant buys from another.

## Cement

Cement adds grinding power and takes the clinker share times its figure. Ask for the clinker share of each grade.

## Carbon price

Algeria has no carbon price to deduct.

## What Senseible does here

Senseible keeps each site's fuel, power and production records together, so the embedded emissions you send an EU importer trace back to dated documents.
