# Do locks and hardware exported from Aligarh fall under EU CBAM?

Canonical: https://senseible.earth/answers/aligarh-locks-hardware-cbam-check

Locks under heading 8301 are not CBAM goods, so a lock shipment needs no embedded emissions figure. Builders' hardware in steel declared under 7326, or fasteners under 7318, would be covered, so check the CN code your EU customer uses for each line.

## Not covered

- 8301: padlocks and locks, keys.
- 8302: base metal mountings and fittings.

## Covered if declared here

- 7318: screws, bolts and nuts of iron or steel.
- 7326: other articles of iron or steel.

## What buyers ask

A footprint per lock for their Scope 3. Brass and steel bought in are most of it.

## What Senseible does here

Senseible reads the energy invoices behind the making stage into a fingerprinted Scope 1 and 2 record, and keeps material invoices on the Scope 3 trail. Material factors come from your supplier or a named database and are labelled with their source, so the product figure can be traced line by line.
