# What CBAM figure does an EU buyer need for steel from the Annaba blast furnace works?

Canonical: https://senseible.earth/answers/annaba-blast-furnace-steel-cbam-figure

Blast furnace steel carries coke, sinter and furnace emissions, so its figure is high, often around twice that of gas DRI steel. Ask the works for a verified figure per tonne of product. If output was intermittent, make sure the period matches your shipment.

## What goes in

- Coke ovens and sinter plant.
- Blast furnace and converter.
- Rolling mill fuel.
- Bought coke, pig iron or slabs as precursors.

## Stop and start

Restarts burn extra fuel per tonne. A figure from a short run may not fit a full year, so ask for the period behind it.

## Without data

The importer must use EU default values, which are set high on purpose. Measured data almost always helps.

## What Senseible does here

Senseible keeps each site's fuel, power and production records together, so the embedded emissions you send an EU importer trace back to dated documents.
