# How do I work out my bakery's oven emissions per kilogram of bread?

Canonical: https://senseible.earth/answers/bakery-oven-emissions-per-kg-bread

Take a month of oven fuel, LPG, PNG, diesel or electricity, convert to CO2 with the right factor, and divide by kilograms baked. Add mixers and cold storage from the electricity bill. Flour usually outweighs baking, so add it if your buyer wants a full product figure.

## The oven

- LPG in kilograms or cylinders.
- PNG in SCM from the gas bill.
- Electric ovens on the main meter or a sub-meter.

## The product

For a cradle-to-gate figure, add flour, sugar, fat and packaging by weight with supplier or published factors.

## One month

- LPG 300 kg x 2.98 = 894 kg CO2
- Bread baked: 9,000 kg; oven share 0.099 kg CO2 per kg
