# A European pump maker wants carbon data for castings from our Belagavi foundry. What do we give?

Canonical: https://senseible.earth/answers/belagavi-foundry-export-castings-buyer-data

A product footprint per kg of casting: your melting energy, coke or electricity, sand and binders, and the metal charge, divided by good castings. Iron castings are mostly outside CBAM, so this is a buyer request, not a legal filing, but the buyer will use it in its own declarations.

## What to include

- Pig iron, scrap and ferro-alloys charged, with factors.
- Coke or electricity for melting.
- Sand, resin and core materials.
- Fettling, machining and heat treatment, if you do them.

## CBAM check

Cast iron articles under heading 7325 are not in Annex I. Steel castings and some semi-finished forms can be. Check the CN code on your invoice.

## Make it usable

Give the figure per kg and per part, state cradle to gate, and say which inputs are measured and which use averages.

## What Senseible does here

Senseible reads your fuel, electricity and purchase documents into dated, fingerprinted records, so the figure you send a buyer can be traced to its source.
