# We supply parts to a carmaker in Betim. How does Brazil's low-carbon grid affect our figure?

Canonical: https://senseible.earth/answers/betim-auto-parts-supplier-carbon-data

Brazil's grid is mostly hydro, so electricity adds less per unit than in most countries. That leaves fuels and purchased steel, aluminium and plastic as the bigger share. Use the official Brazilian grid factor for the year and show materials separately.

## Electricity

Use the published Brazilian grid factor for the reporting year. It changes with rainfall, so state the year.

## Other sources

- Diesel, LPG or gas for heat treatment and forklifts.
- Purchased steel, aluminium and resins, often the largest part.
- Charcoal pig iron, if used, needs evidence for any biogenic claim.

## For the buyer

Give a per part figure with materials, energy and transport shown apart.

## What Senseible does here

Senseible reads bills, fuel invoices and production records into dated, fingerprinted records, so the figure you send a buyer can be traced to its documents.
