# What carbon data do EU buyers ask Binh Duong furniture makers for?

Canonical: https://senseible.earth/answers/binh-duong-furniture-exporter-buyer-carbon-data

A footprint per piece or per cubic metre of wood, built from factory electricity and fuel, the wood, board, foam and hardware per piece, and the finishing chemicals. Furniture is not a CBAM good unless declared as steel or aluminium articles, but buyers counting Scope 3 ask for it.

## Factory energy

- Electricity for saws, CNC, dust extraction and spray booths.
- Fuel for kiln drying, often wood waste or biomass: record quantities even where biogenic.
- Diesel for forklifts and generators.

## Materials per piece

- Solid wood and board volumes, with species and origin.
- Foam, fabric and hardware weights.
- Lacquers and coatings.

## Other rules buyers apply

The EU Deforestation Regulation covers wood and furniture, with traceability to plot of land. Steel furniture declared under a steel heading can fall under CBAM. Keep origin records alongside the carbon data.

## What Senseible does here

Senseible reads the energy invoices behind the making stage into a fingerprinted Scope 1 and 2 record, and keeps material invoices on the Scope 3 trail. Material factors come from your supplier or a named database and are labelled with their source, so the product figure can be traced line by line.
