# Does CBAM apply to steel parts from a Bursa auto supplier?

Canonical: https://senseible.earth/answers/bursa-auto-supplier-steel-parts-cbam

Only to lines declared under CBAM headings, such as 7318 fasteners or 7326 other steel articles. Parts declared as vehicle parts under 8708 are outside CBAM. Where a line is covered, the EU importer needs embedded emissions, and carbon prices actually paid in Turkey can be deducted.

## Sort the lines

- Covered: 7318 fasteners, 7326 other articles of iron or steel, 7616 aluminium articles.
- Not covered: 8708 vehicle parts, 8409 engine parts.

## For covered lines

Get embedded emissions of the steel or aluminium you buy from your supplier.

Add the direct emissions of your own forming or machining steps, if any.

Share the result per tonne of each product with your importer.

## Carbon price deduction

Article 9 allows the importer to reduce certificates for a carbon price effectively paid in the country of origin. Keep evidence of any such price so it can be claimed.

## What Senseible does here

Senseible reads your fuel and electricity bills into dated, fingerprinted installation records, the starting point for the actual emissions your EU importer asks for, and its CBAM cost calculator estimates certificate cost from 2026 to 2034 for covered goods. Senseible does not verify emissions or file CBAM declarations.
