# Our buyer now wants carbon data every quarter. How do we keep up?

Canonical: https://senseible.earth/answers/buyer-asks-carbon-data-every-quarter

Build the quarter from the same records you already keep: electricity bills, fuel invoices and production. Close each month as it ends, so the quarter is three months added up, not a scramble. Send the same fields in the same format every time, and flag any estimate.

## Monthly routine

1. Collect the month's power and fuel bills.
2. Record production for the month.
3. Work out emissions and intensity per unit.
4. Note anything estimated and why.

## What buyers compare

Quarter on quarter intensity. Explain swings from production mix or one-off events before they ask.

## What Senseible does here

Senseible reads bills, fuel invoices and production records into dated, fingerprinted records, so the figure you send a buyer can be traced to its documents.
