# Our buyer wants carbon data entered in its own supplier portal. How do we prepare?

Canonical: https://senseible.earth/answers/buyer-asks-data-in-its-own-portal-format

Download the portal's questions first and map each one to a record you hold: electricity kWh, fuel by type, production, and any renewable share. Work the numbers out once from your bills, keep the workings, and copy them in. The same base figures then serve every buyer's portal.

## Usual fields

- Scope 1 and Scope 2 in tonnes.
- Energy use by type.
- Revenue or units for intensity.
- Targets and actions.

## Avoid

Typing different figures into different portals. Buyers compare notes, and auditors check consistency.

## What Senseible does here

Senseible reads bills, fuel invoices and production records into dated, fingerprinted records, so the figure you send a buyer can be traced to its documents.
