# My buyer wants only the emissions for the goods I supplied them. How do I work that out?

Canonical: https://senseible.earth/answers/buyer-asks-emissions-share-for-its-orders

Share your plant's emissions for the period by a physical measure, such as tonnes or pieces, in proportion to that buyer's orders. If products differ a lot, allocate by line or by machine hours first. State the method so the buyer can compare suppliers.

## Steps

1. Plant Scope 1 and 2 for the period.
2. Output in the chosen unit for all customers.
3. Buyer's output ÷ total × plant emissions.

## When to refine

If the buyer's products use a different process or much more energy, split emissions by line first, then share within the line.

## Example: one buyer

- Plant emissions 1,200 t CO2 a year
- Buyer's share of output: 250 of 2,000 t = 12.5%
- 1,200 × 12.5% = 150 t CO2

## What Senseible does here

Senseible reads fuel, electricity and production documents into dated, fingerprinted plant records, so the monthly intensity behind a compliance figure can be traced to its source.
