# What proof of renewable electricity will a buyer accept from my factory?

Canonical: https://senseible.earth/answers/buyer-asks-proof-of-renewable-electricity

Documents that show you own the renewable attribute for the units you claim: green tariff bills from the discom, retired renewable energy certificates, open access invoices with the certificates, or generation meter readings from your own rooftop solar.

## Accepted evidence

- Green tariff bills naming the units and period.
- REC or I-REC retirement statements in your name.
- Open access or group captive contracts with generation and allocation statements.
- Rooftop generation meter readings.

## Common gaps

Certificates sold on or claimed twice, and solar units already exported to the grid. The GHG Protocol's quality criteria apply to every claim.

## What Senseible does here

Senseible reads electricity bills, including kVAh, demand and solar export lines, into dated records with the units, factor and year behind every Scope 2 figure.
