# Our buyer says it will prefer lower carbon suppliers. What can we do in six months?

Canonical: https://senseible.earth/answers/buyer-prefers-lower-carbon-suppliers-six-months

Start with an honest baseline from your bills, then fix the cheap things: power factor, compressed air leaks, idle running, and switching diesel generation to grid or solar where possible. Report a credible figure with evidence, plus a short plan. Buyers value proof over promises.

## Month 1 to 2

- Collect twelve months of electricity, fuel and production records.
- Calculate CO2 per unit you sell.

## Month 3 to 5

- Act on low-cost savings and measure them.
- Ask for a green tariff or RECs if your buyer accepts them.

## Month 6

- Send the buyer your figure, method and a one-page plan with dates.

## What Senseible does here

Senseible reads bills, fuel invoices and production records into dated, fingerprinted records, so the figure you send a buyer can be traced to its documents.
