# Which scope do campus buggies and pickup vehicles fall in?

Canonical: https://senseible.earth/answers/campus-electric-buggies-and-pickups-which-scope

Electric buggies charged on your site are Scope 2, already inside your electricity bill. Diesel or petrol pickups, tractors and buggies you own or lease and operate are Scope 1 from the fuel they burn. Vehicles a contractor owns and fuels are Scope 3.

## Records to keep

- Fuel issued to each owned vehicle.
- A sub-meter on charging points, if you want the split.
- Contractor vehicle details, for Scope 3.

## Avoid double counting

If buggy charging is already in the site bill, do not add it again as a separate line.

## What Senseible does here

Senseible reads fuel invoices and electricity bills and applies IPCC 2006 factors and the CEA grid factor (0.710 kg CO2 per kWh), so you can compare Scope 1 and 2 before and after a change from the documents themselves.
