# How do I count diesel bought for cash without a GST invoice?

Canonical: https://senseible.earth/answers/cash-diesel-purchases-without-gst-invoice

Count it from the pump receipt or a fuel log: litres × 2.68 kg CO2 per litre. Mark it as lower quality evidence than an invoice. Moving regular purchases to invoices or a fuel card makes the figure checkable.

## Minimum evidence

- Pump receipt with date, litres and amount.
- A log of litres issued to each generator or vehicle.
- Stock at the start and end of the month, if you store diesel.

## If receipts are missing

Estimate from amount paid ÷ the pump price on that date, and label it an estimate.

## What Senseible does here

Senseible reads fuel invoices into a dated, fingerprinted record, so each figure shows the quantity, factor and document it came from.
