# What goes into a CBAM monitoring methodology document?

Canonical: https://senseible.earth/answers/cbam-monitoring-methodology-document-contents

It describes how your figures are made: the installation and its production processes, every source stream and emission source, the method and factors used, where each number comes from, who checks it, and how gaps are filled. A verifier reads it first, then tests your records against it.

## Sections

- Installation, owner and location.
- Production processes and the goods in each.
- Source streams: fuels and materials, with how each is measured.
- Methods, factors and their sources.
- Data flow from meter or invoice to the final figure.
- Control checks and how missing data is handled.

## Keep it real

Write what you actually do. A document that describes meters you do not have will fail the first site visit.

## What Senseible does here

Senseible reads fuel, power and production records into dated, fingerprinted installation records, the starting point for the actual emissions your EU importer asks for.
