# In CDP (formerly the Carbon Disclosure Project) question 7.30.7, where do blended diesel, forklift fuel and fuels I did not use go?

Canonical: https://senseible.earth/answers/cdp-7-30-7-fuel-by-type-and-biofuel-blends

Report fuel by type in megawatt hours (MWh). The fossil part of a biofuel blend goes in Oil and the biofuel part you can show is sustainable goes in Sustainable biomass, with your criteria in the comment. Fuel for unlisted uses goes in the heat column. An unused fuel gets a heating value and 0.

## The rows

Sustainable biomass, other biomass, other renewable fuels (for example renewable hydrogen), coal, oil, gas, other non-renewable fuels, and a total row. Columns cover the applications you selected in 7.30.6, such as self-generation of electricity, heat, steam, cooling or cogeneration.

## Blends and special cases

- A petrol or diesel blend with a biofuel: report the energy from the fossil portion in Oil.
- Report the biofuel content considered sustainable in Sustainable biomass, with the criteria used, for example certification, in the Comment column.
- Hydrogen is reported by origin. Blue hydrogen is non-renewable and goes in Other non-renewable fuels.

## Uses the table does not list

CDP says fuel used for applications not listed, such as transportation or industrial process plant and equipment, is reported in the column "MWh fuel consumed for self-generation of heat".

## Checks

- The Total fuel row should equal the fuel consumption you reported in 7.30.1.
- Gross figures only. Do not deduct energy exported.
- If you used no fuel in a category, select a heating value and enter 0.
- Do not include fuel consumed by another organisation to make electricity or steam you bought.

## Example: diesel with a documented biofuel share

- Your supplier states that 5 MWh of the 100 MWh in diesel purchases is biofuel content backed by a sustainability certificate.
- Oil: 100 less 5 = 95 MWh. Sustainable biomass: 5 MWh, with the certificate named in the comment.
- Check: 95 + 5 = 100 MWh in the Total fuel row for this fuel.

Example numbers. Use the share your fuel supplier documents.

## What Senseible does here

Senseible reads fuel invoices and electricity bills into monthly records, so the litres, kilowatt hours and months are in one place to copy from. Splitting a blended fuel into fossil and biofuel parts needs a statement from your fuel supplier.
