# What changed in CEA CO2 Baseline Database version 22.0?

Version 22.0, published August 2026, adds FY 2025-26: a weighted average of 0.675 t CO2 per MWh, down from 0.710 for FY 2024-25. It also revises FY 2024-25 using actual captive power data in place of provisional figures, and counts renewable generation in the build and combined margins.

## New in version 22.0

- Data for FY 2025-26, including stations commissioned that year; decommissioned units removed.
- FY 2024-25 recalculated with actual captive power data instead of provisional data.
- Renewable generation counted in the FY 2025-26 build and combined margins.
- Database built to version 7.0 of the CDM Tool to calculate the emission factor for an electricity system.

- Weighted average 0.675
- Operating margin 0.963
- Build margin 0.446
- Combined margin 0.705
- All in t CO2 per MWh, adjusted for cross-border transfers.

## What to do with it

Use 0.675 for FY 2025-26 electricity in a location-based footprint. Leave earlier years on the factor for their own year unless CEA revised that year and the change is material to you.
