# What records does a Chandrapur cement plant need for coal from nearby mines?

Canonical: https://senseible.earth/answers/chandrapur-cement-plant-local-coal-records

Coal receipts by mine with weight, grade and lab results for heating value and carbon content, plus kiln feed and clinker made. Local coal is often high ash, so a lab result per lot gives a far better figure than a national default.

## Records

- Weighbridge slips per rake or truck.
- Proximate and ultimate analysis per lot.
- Coal fed to the kiln and the captive power plant, separately.

## Why per lot

Carbon content varies with ash. Using one default for all coal can over or understate fuel CO2.

## Upstream

Mining and transport of the coal are Scope 3, category 3. Fly ash bought from power stations has its own rules.

## What Senseible does here

Senseible reads fuel, electricity and freight invoices into a dated, fingerprinted record per site, so each figure you send a buyer traces back to the documents behind it.
