# Does a Chandrapur ferro alloy plant face CBAM on its exports?

Canonical: https://senseible.earth/answers/chandrapur-ferro-alloy-plant-cbam-check

Only for alloys on the CBAM list. Ferro-manganese, ferro-chromium and ferro-nickel are covered; silico-manganese and ferro-silicon are not. For covered alloys, send direct emissions from coke, coal and electrodes per tonne, worked out by mass balance.

## Check the CN code

- 7202 1, ferro-manganese: covered.
- 7202 30, silico-manganese: not covered.
- 7202 2, ferro-silicon: not covered.

## For covered alloys

Carbon in coke, coal and electrode paste in, minus carbon out in alloy and slag, times 44/12. Divide by tonnes of alloy.

## Power

Furnace electricity is reported but not charged. With India's grid at 0.710 kg CO2 per kWh on CEA v21.0, buyers will still notice it.

## What Senseible does here

Senseible keeps each site's fuel, power and production records together, so the embedded emissions you send an EU importer trace back to dated documents.
