# What are the CO2 emissions of a CNG auto rickshaw per km?

Canonical: https://senseible.earth/answers/cng-auto-rickshaw-emissions-per-km

Divide kilograms of CNG filled by kilometres driven, then multiply by 2.69 kg CO2 per kg of CNG. Get kilograms from refill receipts and kilometres from the meter. For the owner-driver it is Scope 1; a company paying for auto rides counts them as business travel or commuting.

## Records

- Refill receipts in kg, not rupees.
- Odometer or trip meter readings at each refill.
- Kilometres per kg, tracked month by month.

## For a company

Rides for work are Category 6. Rides between home and work are Category 7.

## Example (illustrative)

- 60 kg CNG for 1,800 km = 0.033 kg per km
- 0.033 × 2.69 = about 0.09 kg CO2 per km

Illustrative figures; use your own refill and meter records.

## What Senseible does here

Senseible reads bills, fuel invoices and production records into dated, fingerprinted records, so the figure you send a buyer can be traced to its documents.
