# What is the carbon footprint of a coaching centre per student?

Canonical: https://senseible.earth/answers/coaching-centre-emissions-per-student

For a coaching centre, the bills are mainly electricity for ACs, lights and projectors, plus any diesel genset. Divide the year's Scope 1 and 2 by enrolled students. Student travel to class, often the largest share, is commuting in Scope 3.

## What to count

- Electricity bills for each centre.
- Genset diesel during outages.
- Printed study material, in Scope 3.

## Online classes

Live online batches move energy to students' homes and to cloud services. Count the cloud bill in Scope 3.

## What Senseible does here

Senseible reads electricity bills (CEA grid factor 0.710 kg CO2 per kWh, CO2 Baseline Database version 21.0) and diesel, LPG and gas invoices (IPCC 2006 defaults) into a dated, fingerprinted Scope 1 and 2 record for each site. Intensity per unit uses the activity count you enter, and estimates are labelled as estimates.
