# Can a Navi Mumbai colocation tenant claim the operator's renewable power?

Canonical: https://senseible.earth/answers/colocation-tenant-renewable-claim-navi-mumbai

Only for the share allocated to you in writing. Under the Scope 2 Guidance a market-based claim needs contractual instruments that are uniquely yours. If the operator buys renewable power, ask it to allocate certificates or contract volumes to your space; otherwise use its residual or grid factor.

## What you need

- A document naming your allocation of renewable MWh or certificates.
- The same period as your consumption.
- Assurance that the operator does not count the same MWh for another tenant.

## Without it

Report your share on the location-based method at 0.710 kg CO2 per kWh, times PUE, and leave the market-based figure at the grid or residual factor.

## What Senseible does here

Senseible reads each site's monthly electricity bills into a dated Scope 2 record, keeps renewable purchase documents beside them for market-based reporting, and records diesel for backup generators as Scope 1. Customer shares use the allocation key you enter.
