# How do we count diesel used by a concrete pump on site?

Canonical: https://senseible.earth/answers/concrete-pump-diesel-emissions-per-cubic-metre

A truck-mounted or stationary concrete pump burns diesel at 2.68 kg CO2 per litre. If you own or run it, it is Scope 1. If a contractor brings and fuels it, it is their Scope 1 and your Scope 3. Divide litres by cubic metres pumped for a per-pour figure.

## Records

- Litres filled per pump per day.
- Cubic metres poured, from delivery challans.
- Who supplied the fuel.

## With ready-mix

Ready-mix suppliers often pump as part of the order. Ask whether their per cubic metre figure includes pumping, so it is not counted twice.

## What Senseible does here

Senseible reads bills, fuel invoices and production records into dated, fingerprinted records, so the figure you send a buyer can be traced to its documents.
