# We reimburse staff for charging company EVs at home. Which scope is that?

Canonical: https://senseible.earth/answers/employee-ev-home-charging-reimbursed-scope

If the vehicles are owned or leased and controlled by your company, count the reimbursed kWh as your Scope 2, using the claims as activity data and the grid factor. If staff drive their own cars, charging for business trips is Scope 3 Category 6 and commuting is Category 7.

## Activity data

- kWh claimed per vehicle per month, from the charger app or a meter.
- If only rupees are claimed, divide by the employee's tariff and label it as an estimate.

## Avoid double counting

Do not count the same charging session again in fleet fuel or in commuting estimates.

## What Senseible does here

Senseible reads electricity bills (CEA grid factor 0.710 kg CO2 per kWh, CO2 Baseline Database version 21.0) and diesel, LPG and gas invoices (IPCC 2006 defaults) into a dated, fingerprinted Scope 1 and 2 record for each site, and labels estimates as estimates.
