# When must EU brands disclose the unsold products they discard?

Canonical: https://senseible.earth/answers/espr-unsold-products-disclosure-2027

Large companies already have to disclose the unsold consumer products they discard under the EU's Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation. A standard disclosure format applies from February 2027, and medium-sized companies come in from 2030. Your EU buyer reports it, but may ask you for product data.

## Timeline

- Disclosure duty: already applies to large companies.
- Standardised format under the implementing regulation: from February 2027.
- Medium-sized companies: 2030.

## What it covers

The volumes of unsold consumer products a company discards as waste. The destruction ban itself applies to apparel, clothing accessories and footwear, while disclosure covers discarded unsold consumer products.

## How to be ready

- Keep product codes, weights and materials per style or SKU on your invoices.
- Track returns sent back to you and what you do with them.
- Keep the carbon footprint per piece ready if the buyer combines this with climate reporting.

## What Senseible does here

Senseible keeps per-order records from your invoices, so product weights and emissions per piece are on hand when a buyer asks.
