# Should a second person check our carbon calculations before we send them?

Canonical: https://senseible.earth/answers/four-eyes-check-on-carbon-calculations

Yes. A second person checking units, factors and totals catches most errors before a buyer or verifier does. Keep it simple: one preparer, one reviewer, a short checklist and a dated record of what was checked. ISO 14064-1 expects data management procedures like this.

## Reviewer checklist

- Litres versus kg and kWh versus kVAh conversions.
- Every factor has a source and version.
- Monthly totals match the purchase ledger.
- No invoice counted twice.
- Estimates are labelled.

## Record it

Note the reviewer's name, date and what changed. A verifier will ask how errors are prevented.

## What Senseible does here

Senseible fingerprints every invoice and bill it reads, so the same document is never counted twice, and each emission line links back to the page, quantity and factor it came from.
