# What is the embodied carbon of a glass facade per square metre?

Add the glass, usually double glazed units, and the aluminium frames and brackets. Aluminium often decides the result. Multiply each by its weight per square metre and a named factor, or use the supplier's EPD. Operational savings from better glazing are a separate figure.

- Glass kg × float glass factor, plus coating and lamination.
- Aluminium kg × the supplier's factor.
- Sealants, gaskets and steel fixings.

Aluminium frames and profiles exported to the EU can fall under CBAM; check the CN code.
