# Can a biogas plant at our factory or farm be funded with a green loan?

Canonical: https://senseible.earth/answers/green-loan-for-biogas-plant

It can fit. The Green Loan Principles list renewable energy and waste-to-energy among eligible project types. The bank will want the feed and gas estimate, what fuel the gas replaces, and a way to report the result after commissioning, such as LPG or diesel no longer bought.

## What to prepare

- Feed quantity per day and expected gas output, from the supplier or a DPR.
- Current fuel bills for what the gas will replace.
- Digestate handling plan.

## Reporting afterwards

Fuel bills before and after, with gas meter readings, show the saving. Keep methane leaks in mind: an unmanaged leak can cancel part of the benefit.

## What Senseible does here

Senseible turns invoices and bills into a dated, fingerprinted emissions record a lender can trace line by line. The lender makes its own credit decision.
