# How should a small company choose a GHG verifier?

Canonical: https://senseible.earth/answers/how-to-choose-a-ghg-verifier-msme

Pick a body accredited to ISO 14065 for your sector and the standard you report under, check that the person leading the work knows your process, and confirm independence. Ask whoever relies on the figure, such as a buyer, lender or regulator, which verifiers they accept before you sign.

## Check

- Accreditation to ISO 14065, and its scope covers your sector.
- Experience with your process, such as steel, textiles or chemicals.
- No consulting work on the same inventory.
- Fee, timeline and whether a site visit is included.

## Ask the user of the figure

A buyer programme, lender or regulator may name accepted standards or bodies. Get that in writing first.

## Compare quotes properly

Compare scope, sampling and site days, not just price.

## What Senseible does here

Senseible keeps each figure tied to its invoice, factor and method version, so a verifier can trace any number back to the document it came from.
