# Do hand tools exported from Jalandhar fall under EU CBAM?

Canonical: https://senseible.earth/answers/jalandhar-hand-tool-exporter-cbam-check

No. Hand tools such as spanners, pliers and hammers are classified in Chapter 82, which is not in Annex I of the CBAM Regulation. Only iron and steel goods in Chapter 72 and headings 7301 to 7311, 7318 and 7326 are covered, so check the CN code your EU customer declares.

## Covered iron and steel

- Chapter 72: iron and steel, including semis and flat or long products.
- 7301 to 7311: structures, tubes, containers and similar.
- 7318: screws, bolts and nuts.
- 7326: other articles of iron or steel.

## Not covered

- 8201 to 8205: hand tools.
- 8207: interchangeable tools.

## What buyers still ask

Buyers may still want a footprint per tool for their Scope 3. Keep forging fuel, electricity and steel purchase records so one can be built.

## What Senseible does here

Senseible reads the energy invoices behind the making stage into a fingerprinted Scope 1 and 2 record, and keeps material invoices on the Scope 3 trail. Material factors come from your supplier or a named database and are labelled with their source, so the product figure can be traced line by line.
