# Do brass parts exported from Jamnagar fall under EU CBAM?

Canonical: https://senseible.earth/answers/jamnagar-brass-parts-exporter-cbam-check

No. Brass is a copper alloy, and CBAM covers iron and steel, aluminium, cement, fertilisers, hydrogen and electricity. Copper and brass goods are not on the Annex I list, though steel screws or aluminium parts in the same shipment may be.

## Check each line

Brass fittings and turned parts: outside CBAM.

Steel fasteners or aluminium components shipped with them: check their CN codes against Annex I.

## What buyers may still ask

A product carbon footprint for their Scope 3, where the brass rod you buy is a major line. Keep the rod supplier's figure if they give one.

## What Senseible does here

Senseible reads the energy invoices behind the making stage into a fingerprinted Scope 1 and 2 record, and keeps material invoices on the Scope 3 trail. Material factors come from your supplier or a named database and are labelled with their source, so the product figure can be traced line by line.
