# How does a pipe mill in Khalifa Industrial Zone Abu Dhabi report its CBAM figure?

Canonical: https://senseible.earth/answers/kizad-steel-pipe-exporter-cbam-figure

Welded tubes and pierced tubes are CBAM goods. Add the mill's direct emissions from gas in reheating, annealing and coating ovens to the embedded emissions of the coil, plate or billet bought in. Divide by tonnes shipped. Electricity is not counted for steel.

## Inputs

- Hot rolled coil or plate for welded pipe.
- Billet or round bar for pierced tube.
- Embedded emissions from each steel supplier, or default values.

## Own emissions

- Natural gas in reheating and heat treatment furnaces.
- Fuel for coating lines.
- Process emissions are small; the steel input dominates.

## Yield

End cuts and rejects carry embedded emissions too, so record input tonnes against shipped tonnes.

## What Senseible does here

Senseible reads fuel, electricity and production documents into dated, fingerprinted installation records, the starting point for the actual emissions an EU importer asks for.
