# How does a buyer count Kuwaiti polyethylene in Scope 3?

Canonical: https://senseible.earth/answers/kuwait-polyethylene-buyer-scope-3-figure

Multiply tonnes bought by a per tonne footprint for that grade, ideally from the producer, cradle to gate. Polyethylene is not a CBAM good, so this is a Scope 3 figure, not a border charge. Without producer data, use a database value for gas based ethylene and say so.

## What to ask

- Cradle to gate CO2 per tonne for the grade.
- Whether it includes feedstock extraction.
- Method and year.

## Records

Purchase invoices with tonnes per grade, and the producer named on the delivery note.

## Your own share

Add the power for extrusion or moulding to get a footprint per tonne of finished product.

## What Senseible does here

Senseible turns supplier invoices into a Scope 3 record with the supplier, quantity and factor behind every figure, so you can see which supplier data is still missing.
