# What carbon data should a buyer ask a Map Ta Phut polymer supplier for?

Canonical: https://senseible.earth/answers/map-ta-phut-polymer-supplier-carbon-data

Ask for a cradle to gate footprint per tonne of the exact grade, with feedstock, cracker and polymerisation energy, the allocation method and the year. Thailand runs a national carbon footprint label for products, so some suppliers already hold a figure. Multiply it by the tonnes on your invoices in Scope 3 Category 1.

## Gas or naphtha feed

Crackers fed with ethane from Gulf of Thailand gas and those fed with naphtha produce different figures. Ask which feed the grade came from.

## Labels

A national product label shows a figure was calculated and reviewed under its scheme. Check its year and boundary before using it.

## Without a figure

Use a published resin average and label it as secondary data.

## What Senseible does here

Senseible reads purchase invoices into a dated, fingerprinted record, so each supplier figure in your Scope 3 sits next to the quantity and the document it applies to.
