# What carbon data do EU drinks brands ask Monterrey glass container makers for?

Canonical: https://senseible.earth/answers/monterrey-glass-container-supplier-carbon-data

Glass is not a CBAM good, but brands counting Scope 3 ask for a figure per tonne or per bottle. It covers furnace fuel, CO2 released from soda ash, limestone and dolomite, electricity, and the cullet share, which lowers both fuel and process emissions.

## What goes into the figure

- Natural gas or fuel oil burnt in the furnace.
- Process CO2 from carbonates in the batch.
- Electricity, including any electric boosting.
- Packaging and transport if the buyer asks for delivered figures.

## Why cullet matters

Recycled glass melts at a lower temperature and carries no carbonate, so every point of cullet lowers both fuel and process CO2. State the cullet share with the figure.

## Give two units

Per tonne of glass for comparison, and per container using its weight, so the brand can fit it into its product footprint.

## What Senseible does here

Senseible reads gas, fuel and electricity invoices into a dated, fingerprinted record per site and keeps lab reports and production logs beside them, so each figure can be traced to its documents.
