# Does CBAM apply to brassware exported from Moradabad?

Canonical: https://senseible.earth/answers/moradabad-brassware-exporter-cbam-and-buyers

No. Brass is a copper alloy, and copper articles in Chapter 74 are not CBAM goods. Steel or aluminium items in a Moradabad shipment may be, if declared under a covered heading. Buyers of brassware may still ask for a footprint per kg built from melting fuel, electricity and metal bought.

## Not covered

Chapter 74 copper and copper alloy articles, including brass artware, are outside Annex I.

## Check mixed shipments

- 7323 steel household articles: not covered.
- 7326 other articles of iron or steel: covered.
- 7615 aluminium household articles: not covered.
- 7616 other articles of aluminium: covered.

## For buyers

Melting fuel and electricity give the making-stage figure; brass ingots and scrap bought in carry most of the footprint and sit in Scope 3.

## What Senseible does here

Senseible reads the energy invoices behind the making stage into a fingerprinted Scope 1 and 2 record, and keeps material invoices on the Scope 3 trail. Material factors come from your supplier or a named database and are labelled with their source, so the product figure can be traced line by line.
