# How does a Morbi tile exporter count truck emissions to Mundra port?

Canonical: https://senseible.earth/answers/morbi-tile-trucks-to-mundra-port-emissions

Multiply tonnes carried by road kilometres and by a published intensity for the truck class. For a heavy truck of 30 to 50 tonnes, the Smart Freight Centre India default is 0.0663 kg CO2e per tonne-km. If you pay the transporter, this is Scope 3.

## Steps

Tonnes per trip from the lorry receipt or weighbridge slip.

Road distance for the route.

Tonnes x km x the intensity for the truck class.

## Which category

Transport you pay for to the port is Scope 3 category 4. If your own trucks do it, the diesel is Scope 1 instead.

## Worked example: one container trip (illustrative distance and load)

- Load: 30 tonnes, distance: 230 km
- 30 x 230 = 6,900 tonne-km
- 6,900 x 0.0663 = 457.5 kg CO2e

Load and distance are illustrative; 0.0663 kg CO2e per tonne-km is the SFC India default for 30 to 50 tonne trucks, well to wheel.

## What Senseible does here

Senseible reads the energy invoices behind the making stage into a fingerprinted Scope 1 and 2 record, and keeps material invoices on the Scope 3 trail. Material factors come from your supplier or a named database and are labelled with their source, so the product figure can be traced line by line.
