# Should our office and admin emissions be included in the product footprint we give a buyer?

Canonical: https://senseible.earth/answers/office-emissions-in-product-footprint

Usually no for a cradle-to-gate product footprint, which covers materials, production energy and processes. Office power and business travel belong in your company inventory. If your offices share a meter with the factory, separate them or state that they are included.

## Include

- Materials and parts.
- Production energy and fuels.
- Process emissions and waste from production.

## Usually exclude

- Office electricity and air conditioning.
- Sales and management travel.
- Head office overheads.

## Say what you did

State the boundary in one line next to the figure.

## What Senseible does here

Senseible reads bills, fuel invoices and production records into dated, fingerprinted records, so the figure you send a buyer can be traced to its documents.
