# Does CBAM matter to a Pakistani cement exporter?

Canonical: https://senseible.earth/answers/pakistan-cement-exporter-cbam-relevance

Only for cement or clinker sold into the EU. Most Pakistani cement exports go to Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, East Africa and the Gulf, which have no CBAM. Keep clinker, fuel and power records in CBAM shape anyway: lenders and multinational buyers ask similar questions, and it keeps an EU sale possible.

## Who pays

The EU importer pays on embedded emissions of cement and clinker entering the EU.

## Why keep records anyway

- Green loan lenders ask for CO2 per tonne.
- UK CBAM is planned for cement too.
- Buyers elsewhere start asking.

## What to keep

Monthly clinker, raw meal chemistry, coal by lot with analysis, power by source.

## What Senseible does here

Senseible reads fuel, raw material and electricity invoices into a dated, fingerprinted record per plant, so the clinker and cement figures can be traced back to the documents behind them.
