# How does a Pali dyeing and printing unit count CO2 from its boiler?

Canonical: https://senseible.earth/answers/pali-textile-dyeing-unit-coal-boiler-co2

Multiply the coal, lignite or wood used each month by its emission factor: coal and lignite in full in Scope 1, wood with its CO2 reported as biogenic. Add electricity at 0.710 kg CO2 per kWh. Divide by metres or kilograms processed.

## Boiler fuel

- Coal or lignite: weigh at receipt and note GCV from the supplier.
- Wood or agro waste: CO2 biogenic, methane and N2O in Scope 1.
- Thermic fluid heaters count the same way.

## Electricity

Units from bills at the CEA factor; the shared effluent plant's power is usually billed separately.

## Per unit

Divide by fabric processed, keeping dyeing and printing apart if heat use differs.

## What Senseible does here

Senseible reads fuel, electricity and production documents into dated, fingerprinted plant records, so the monthly intensity behind a figure can be traced to its source.
