# Is phosphoric acid from Paradip covered by CBAM?

Canonical: https://senseible.earth/answers/paradip-phosphoric-acid-covered-by-cbam

No. Phosphoric acid sits under CN 2809, which is not on the CBAM list. Fertilisers containing nitrogen, such as DAP and many NPK grades, are covered. If acid is used to make DAP that goes to the EU, the acid's energy shows up in the DAP figure.

## Covered fertiliser goods

- Ammonia, nitric acid and urea.
- Nitrogen fertilisers under 3102.
- Mixed fertilisers with nitrogen under 3105, except those with only phosphorus and potassium.

## Not covered

- Phosphoric acid and sulphuric acid.
- Phosphate rock.
- Single and triple superphosphate under 3103.

## Still asked for

EU buyers reporting Scope 3 may still want a footprint for the acid. Keep sulphur burning, steam and power records per tonne.

## What Senseible does here

Senseible keeps each site's fuel, power and production records together, so the embedded emissions you send an EU importer trace back to dated documents.
