# What CBAM figure does an EU buyer need for aluminium from Ras Al Khair?

Canonical: https://senseible.earth/answers/ras-al-khair-aluminium-smelter-cbam-figure

Embedded direct emissions per tonne: anode consumption, perfluorocarbons from anode effects and cast house fuel. For aluminium only direct emissions count toward the charge, so the gas power behind the smelter is reported but not charged. Ask for a verified per tonne figure by product.

## What goes in

- CO2 from anode carbon used in the pots.
- CF4 and C2F6 from anode effects.
- Fuel for casting and holding furnaces.
- Bought anodes or alloying metals as precursors.

## Electricity

Smelting needs a lot of power and here it comes from gas. It must be reported, and buyers doing Scope 3 will count it.

## What to ask for

A verified figure per tonne for the specific product, ingot, billet or rolled product, and the period it covers.

## What Senseible does here

Senseible keeps each site's fuel, power and production records together, so the embedded emissions you send an EU importer trace back to dated documents.
