# How should we reply by email to a buyer's first carbon data request?

Confirm what they need, by when and for which period, then send what you have: the figure, the scopes, the method note and what is missing. If you need time, say when you will send it. A short, specific reply builds trust faster than a long promise.

## Ask first

- Which period and which sites?
- Company total or per product?
- Their template, or yours?

## Then send

- Emissions by scope with the year.
- A one-page methodology note.
- What is estimated or missing, and when it will be ready.

## What Senseible does here

Senseible keeps each figure behind a claim traceable to the invoices and bills it came from, so a reader can check the number rather than take the wording on trust.
