# How do I count emissions when my truck travels on a Ro-Ro train?

Canonical: https://senseible.earth/answers/roro-trucks-on-train-emissions

Split the trip into legs. The road legs to and from the rail terminals use truck diesel. The rail leg uses a rail factor applied to the full weight carried, truck plus cargo, unless the railway gives you its own figure. Diesel saved on the rail leg is the gain.

## Legs to add

- Road: factory to loading terminal.
- Rail: terminal to terminal, truck on a flat wagon.
- Road: unloading terminal to customer.

## Evidence

Keep the Ro-Ro booking with distance and weight, and fuel slips for the road legs.

## What Senseible does here

Senseible reads bills, fuel invoices and production records into dated, fingerprinted records, so the figure you send a buyer can be traced to its documents.
