# Our car maker customer in Sanand wants our carbon data. What should an ancillary unit send?

Canonical: https://senseible.earth/answers/sanand-auto-ancillary-oem-carbon-request

Start with Scope 1 and 2 for your plant, per year, with energy use by source and production volume. Then, if asked, a per-part figure that adds your share of plant emissions to the main materials by weight. Car makers mostly want consistency and a method they can check.

## First request

- Scope 1: fuel for furnaces, DG sets, forklifts.
- Scope 2: electricity, with any solar shown separately.
- Production in parts or tonnes for intensity.

## Per-part request

- Plant emissions allocated by weight or machine hours.
- Steel, aluminium or plastic per part times supplier or average factors.
- Packaging, if the customer asks.

## Formats

Some OEMs use their own portals or industry data exchanges. Keep one master dataset and map it to each format.

## What Senseible does here

Senseible reads your fuel, electricity and purchase documents into dated, fingerprinted records, so the figure you send a buyer can be traced to its source.
