# How do I estimate the carbon footprint of one spectacle frame?

Canonical: https://senseible.earth/answers/spectacle-frame-carbon-footprint-per-piece

Weigh the frame by material, usually acetate, injected plastic or metal, and apply a material factor per kilogram. Add the factory's electricity and fuel per frame, and packaging. For lenses, do the same separately, since glass and plastic lenses differ.

## Per frame

- Material weight: acetate, nylon, steel, titanium.
- Factory energy divided by frames made.
- Case, cloth and box.

## Standard

ISO 14067 sets out how to build and report a product footprint; state the boundary, cradle to gate or wider.

## What Senseible does here

Senseible turns your fuel, power and material invoices into a dated, sourced activity record, the starting point for a per-unit footprint.
