# How do we calculate the carbon footprint of a match day at our stadium?

Canonical: https://senseible.earth/answers/stadium-match-day-carbon-footprint

Count floodlight and venue electricity, generator diesel, catering fuel and waste for the event. Spectator travel is often the largest share, estimated from a short survey or ticket postcodes. Report it per match and per spectator, and keep travel as a separate line.

## Venue

- Electricity on the day from the meter.
- Generator diesel for lights and broadcast.
- LPG for catering stalls.

## People and waste

- Spectator and team travel by mode.
- Waste collected after the match.
- Hotel nights for teams and officials.

## What Senseible does here

Senseible reads quantities, dates and units from your bills and invoices and shows the factor and source used on every line.
