# Our service centre slits and cuts coil for EU customers. What is our CBAM figure?

Canonical: https://senseible.earth/answers/steel-service-centre-slitting-coil-cbam-figure

Slit coil and cut sheet are still CBAM goods. Your figure is the embedded emissions of the coil bought in, adjusted for yield, plus any direct emissions of your own, which are usually tiny. The mill's figure carries through.

## What carries through

The mill's embedded emissions per tonne of coil, as reported by the mill or a default value.

## Yield

- Edge trim and offcuts carry embedded emissions.
- Divide input emissions by tonnes shipped, not tonnes bought.
- Keep coil numbers linked to shipments.

## Own emissions

Forklift fuel and any heating; electricity is not counted for steel.

## What Senseible does here

Senseible reads fuel, electricity and production documents into dated, fingerprinted installation records, the starting point for the actual emissions an EU importer asks for.
