# How does a chemical unit in Taloja work out CO2 per tonne of product?

Count fuel burnt for steam and heat, grid electricity at 0.710 kg CO2 per kWh, and any process emissions from reactions. Divide by tonnes produced, or allocate by steam and power use when several products share utilities. Buyers will ask for both Scope 1 and 2.
